NEW PUBLICATION
The Three Priories
by John Meade Falkner
The Society, in conjunction with Ashby de la Zouch Museum, has just published three poems by John Meade Falkner, under the title “ The Three Priories ”.
Issued in an edition limited to 75 copies, set by hand and printed at The Atlantis Press, Wolvercote, Oxford, it has been produced by Society member Michael Daniell. Michael is well known for the quality of his publications and was responsible for an earlier Falkner production in 1981 - “A Roman Villa: Chedworth” – now very hard to find and which can be quite expensive to purchase!
The three priories are Bridlington and Malton, both in Yorkshire, and Woodspring in Somerset. Each poem is accompanied by a nineteenth century line illustration. There is an Introduction and end Notes by the Founder of the Society, Kenneth Hillier.
This quality booklet is printed on Mohawk paper, supplied from Shipton-under-Wychwood, set in Caslon and Perpetua Titling, and then printed on a Furnival treadle press.
Each copy is individually numbered and is priced at £10.00 + £1.00 p & p.
